Doggone safe Privacy policy

In light of the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) we wanted to inform you of our data privacy policies.  It is highly recommended that you read this policy.

Doggone safe (DGS) makes every reasonable effort to protect your privacy when you are using our websites. As a member of DGS or as a subscribed contact to DGS you have requested and consented to receiving emails and membership information from DGS.

DGS uses the Wild Apricot hosting platform to administer and manage our membership. We do not outsource any of our communication to any other companies or communication platforms nor do we ever share membership lists, email contact information or any other membership or subscription information you provide when you join or subscribe.

Emails

At any time, you can log in to your account with Doggone safe and change and edit your profile and how and which emails you receive from us.  To safeguard your information, we advise you choose a secure password and update it regularly. If we ever use a third-party mail platform to communicate with you it will be sent from our main DGS email address, so you can easily identify the sender and you will have the option to immediately unsubscribe and be requested to confirm your opt-in preference.

Website

Like most website operators Doggone safe collects non-personally-identifying information (“NPII”) of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. The purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how our site visitors use the website, where they are referred from and how long they stay on the site.

Information Collection, Use, and Sharing

We are the sole owners of the information collected on this site. We only have access to/collect information that you voluntarily give us via email or other direct contact from you. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone.

We will use your information to respond to you, regarding the reason you contacted us and to update you on membership news and updates. We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill your personal request, e.g. to ship an order.

Unless you ask us not to, we may contact you via email in the future to tell you about specials, new products or services, or changes to this privacy policy.

Membership and Profile Data

As members of DGS or as subscribed contact at any time you can rectify any of your previously submitted personal data by logging into your account and editing your profile. You also have full access to change and edit your profile security details which determine which of your submitted information is shown in the public membership directory.

Surveys & Contests

From time-to-time our site may request information via surveys or contests. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and you may choose whether or not to participate and therefore disclose this information. Information requested may include contact information (such as name and shipping address), and demographic information (such as zip code, age level). Contact information will be used to notify the winners and award prizes. Survey information will be used for purposes of monitoring or improving the use and satisfaction of this site.
