Once you have downloaded the files to your computer you must upload them to the VistaPrint site. Follow the instructions provided to print standard or over-size postcards.

You may also print these on your own or at a local printer and blow them up for use in a display at community events or for any educational purpose. Download high resolution PDF for printing at your local printer.

Customization is available for anyone for a fee of $30. Please send us an email with your logo and contact information if you would like a custom version of the postcard (with your logo replacing the Be a Tree logo and your contact info listed at the bottom) that you can print with VistaPrint or at your local printer.

The Canadian Animal Health Institute has generously funded the production of 136,000 Be a Tree bookmarks to be distributed across Canada.  The bookmarks are free and there are still some left, but shipping charges will apply. Send us an email if you would like some bookmarks to distribute in Canada.

Click here for radio PSAs. Radio stations are required by law to provide a certain amount of free air time for public service announcements, so give your local station a call today and send them the link for our PSA recordings and scripts. They may just agree to read or play some of these during dog bite prevention week.

Perhaps you can offer to provide an educational display at a local mall, community centre, veterinarian, library Zellers, Walmart, Petsmart or other pet-related or family-related store? See the photo at right for a creative idea. This display was produced by Susan Signor using materials from the Doggone Crazy! board game and from the Doggone Safe website. There are lots of resources available for your use at the Dog Bite Prevention Week Resources page.

For more ideas browse through previous editions of the newsletter to see photos of booths and displays set up by various Doggone Safe members. Contact Kerry Potter-Kotecki if you are interested in purchasing a banner (around $50).

Case File - Be a Tree Works for Postal Worker...

Thanks to Dr. Sally Cleland of Saskatchewan for sharing this story as about the experience of her local letter carrier...

Today I was talking to the The Canada Post Delivery Person who works in my neighbourhood. I had discussed the Be a Tree Program with her after last spring's dog bite incident in Moose Jaw involving a letter carrier.

Over her career,  she has preferred delivering in our neighbourhood because there are rarely any dogs running loose or unattended, but sometime since we last spoke, she was assigned to another neighbourhood that caused her some concern.  She was approaching a house that she knew there was a dog and a little boy answered the door and he was on a cell phone and the dog pushed by him. Becky said there was "no where for her to go" and all she could think of was "Be a Tree".  So, she stopped, folded in her branches and watched her roots grow and the dog just sniffed her hands and walked away!!!!!!

People are frequently surprised to find how well it works to Be a Tree. It's simple, it's safe, it's effective, for adults and for kids. Keep spreading the word!
